Any watercolor fans out there?
I love watercolor because it is super simple and not very expensive to get started.
Have you ever wanted to give watercolor a try? With my tools list and step-by-step instructions (below) you can start today. Here is what you will need:
Time: About 45 minutes from start to finish, to create the above watercolor painting.
Tools: Most things can be found at your local craft store or even at the Grocery store in the card or craft aisle. I have even found things like brushes and paper at the Dollar Store.

Brushes. Beginner OR Intermediate/Looking to make this more of a hobby Click here.
Along with watercolor paint, I used a black fine-tip brush pen to add a few outlines and details. (You can
totally leave these off and it will still look amazing!)
Create your Art in 6 steps:
For a time-lapse video of the above painting Click here.
1. Cut paper to size (4.25x5.5 here).
2. Tape off edges for a nice clean border. (I used masking tape).
3. Lightly draw image with a pencil.
4. Pick a couple colors and start blocking them out 1 color at a time. (Tip: more water=less saturation. You can always build up to the brightness by adding more paint,).
5. Add a wash of color to the background, or not–its, up to you. Let dry then Outline with a fine-tip pen if you like.
6. Finish up by erasing any visible pencil lines and remove taped edge.
Let me know how it turns out–and have fun!
